Photographs Outside Memory

The photos from this collection have lost their owners. These shots are the evidence of oblivion. Most of these found photographs were thrown away or lost by their previous masters.

Photographs without authorship are photographs without meaning. Their unclear status is what makes them interesting. As we watch the prints, we get more answers than questions, and interpreting takes place on a different level, without any search for meanings. These photos were selected out of a big amount of material, according to their visual qualities. Sometimes, you would get an impression that it’s a genius creation by a renowned author, although in fact, it’s an image deprived of its history, a random shot, a snapshot, a picture made to remember that remained unneeded.

The prints are unique; each of them only exists as one copy.
